Surrogate Baby

Upon getting my two kitties from the shelter in the summer of 2005--I never knew I would get a surrogate baby! Did I want to have children? I don't know--at least I didn't think about it too much. Except, I thought it would happen; as I picked out baby names in grade school. I guess I am a little wishy-washy about it looking back; however, I do hope my time for this opportunity has not run out!
Motor is his name. My surrogate baby. I also call him maleable. He melts in my arms and lets me hold him however I choose and carry him where ever I go. He has a gentle purr and a demanding hunger who gets me out of bed before I really want to be with a soft touch of his paw on my lip. I love him just the same morning and night time!
Muse is kitty No. 2, but actually, the first kitty I chose to take home! I went to the shelter to pick out one kitten to bring home but when I peered in the kennel I could not fine one suitable. They weren't just right. Until I turned around and saw the smallest little black kitten hiding behind a pole.
That's it, I thought, she's perfect! I picked her up and proceeded to adopt her when a woman came in to return a kitten. It was Motor! The shelter worker said why are you returning him? He purrs every time you pick him up? The woman returning the kitten turned to me and with her hands out with Motor and said "Here, you take him!" My response was "Okay!" The shelter worker said "Alright, it's two for one!" I got a pair of littermate kitties from the shelter that came from a barn in Hailey, Idaho!
They are nearly 15 years old and they are still going strong! I need to get their teeth cleaned--I wish someone told me that was a maintenance issue when they were younger!
