Twenty-two acres of rhododendron species from around the world right here in the Pacific Northwest! Open Tuesday through Sunday 10 AM to 4 PM in Federal Way, Washington. Did you know that the rhododendron is Washington State's flower? It grows amongst the trees and has varieties that are snug close to the ground of tens of feet in the air; 1/2" leaves to 1' leaves. Rhododendrons are starting to bloom now in Washington but won't peak until around the First of April! When you arrive at the garden ($8.00 to enter) there will be plants for sale, at least there are at this time of year! I think I saw one or two blooms so to go now would not be a good time to see color but to enjoy Forest Bathing as they term it in Japan! Also, a chance to get first dibs on those hard to find rhododendron varieties and if you're lucky a red pitcher plant! There is also a garden gift shop if you are lucky enough to find it open in these times of COVID.

"In Japan, the practice [forest bathing] is decades old and known as shinrin-yoku, which means "taking in the forest."" (www.webmd.com)

Some rhododendrons for sale that caught my eye:

Cheers! And happy forest bathing!
