Brand Name Vs. Generic

Now here is my story and I am sticking to it! When I came down with schizophrenia psychosis the medication that worked for me was the brand name Abilify. For 6 years it worked. I held two part-time jobs (I didn't need to work.) and I did my art work. When I moved back home to Washington they switched my Abilify to a generic. Everything went haywire. I was going on shopping sprees, in severe psychosis and couldn't work due to psychosis! Later I realized what had happened and I can't afford over $900.00 a month for Abilify! Since Washington State Law passed a bill to use generics over the brand name; health insurance companies won't cover the costs for brand name even when the doctor writes "no substitutions"! When does the government have the right to tell you what medication to take? The generic isn't the same as the brand name. It can have a range of difference 20% in one direction of 20% in the opposite direction. There is a book documenting the hazards of generic drugs from other countries! I would tell you the name but my mother read it from the library and she doesn't remember the title either!
